Our Worship

We at Abundant Life worship the Lord Jesus Christ seriously,

joyfully and enthusiastically.

Our worship takes on many forms throughout our services.

Scripture is our source of pattern and principle.

Edification is our goal. Decency and order are constant watchwords.

Here is why we worship the way we do.

Why do we stand to sing?

“And the Levites . . . stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel, with a very loud voice.

(II Chronicles 20:19)

Why do we clap our hands?

“O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to the Lord with a voice of joy.”

 (Psalm 47:1)

Why do we lift our hands?

“So I will bless Thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Thy name.”

(Psalm 63:4)

Why do we pray for the sick?

“Is any one of you sick? He should call on the elders of the church to pray

over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer

offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.”

 (James 5:14-15)

Why speak in tongues?

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with

other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

(Acts 2:4)

Why do we dance or shout?

“Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing . . .” (Psalm 47:9)

“Shout to God with cries of joy . . .” (Psalm 47:1)

It is our desire that your worship experience at Abundant Life be an
